Satellite Passes

When the space station, the weather satellites and the amateur radio satellites rise over a place, how high they climb and which way to look, for listening, photographing or working them. Worked out from public orbit data.
Place and Choices

Passes for the middle of this site's map (34.800, -92.300). Times follow the time zone chosen in the Display menu.

Amateur Radio Satellites

Tick the satellites you want and choose Show Passes. None clears every box; nothing ticked shows no passes.

How to Work the Chosen Satellites

Choose some satellites above, or type part of a name in the Find box, to see how to work them here.

Frequencies and which satellites are working change over time: check AMSAT's status page before you try. The Frequencies page lists the common ones. The Doppler shift is how far the downlink moves during a pass: it starts high as the satellite comes toward you, passes through the listed frequency at the closest point and ends low.

Highest is the most the satellite climbs above the horizon (90° is straight up); a low pass is hard to use with hills and trees in the way. Length is minutes:seconds above the horizon. In the sky chart north is up, the middle is straight overhead and the rim is the horizon; the green dot is where it rises.

Orbit data: CelesTrak (derived from US Space Force tracking), loaded 2026-10-21; the newest element set is 0 days old. Positions are most exact within a few days of an element set and drift a little afterwards, so check a few minutes before a pass that matters.
